• 2+ years of braiding experience, preferably in a salon setting
• Ability to work weekends, including at least 2 out of 3 days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

We are specifically looking for individuals skilled in the following areas:

• Knotless braiders
• Cornrows
• Locking and twisting
• Crochet
• Natural hair styling & curl definition

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is essential at K&D African Hair Braiding. You will be expected to:

• Spray and wipe down the seat after each client.
• Use different implements for each patron and avoid picking up dropped combs.
• Ensure no tools are left on the desk or visible at the end of the day.
• Assist management and other staff in keeping track of hair used.
• Follow the cleaning log for style seats, styling chairs, station sweeping, mopping, and mirror wiping.
• Complete the cleaning log daily before leaving.

At K&D African Hair Braiding, we offer the following benefits and earning opportunities (specific details to be discussed in person):

• Starting commission rate of 50% per client + tips, with an increase to 60% after 1 year if specific conditions are met
• Opportunity for an additional increase after 2 years of employment and entry into K&D's Lead Stylist program
• Monthly supplies fee to be added at the end of each month
• 40+ hours per week (i.e., 5 days per week at 7+ hours daily, with at least 2 clients per day)
• Other long-term incentives include lower-cost insurance/financial investment plans, such as a 401k plan, dental plan, or cell phone plan

PLEASE NOTE: In order to be employed by K&D, applicants must sign an industry-standard non-compete clause which prohibits certain professional styling activities for three (3) years after termination or resignation with K&D.
