We put forth these decrees so that we are all on the same page.
Please abide by them.
We want your salon experience to be memorable for all the right reasons. Thank you for reviewing the following K&D salon policies.
The BOOK NOW scheduling system allows you to reserve an appointment at minimum 3 days from the date that you are on the calendar. Please do not book an appointment more than 14 days in advance. Failure to adhere to this guidance will result in a cancelled appointment. Call us directly for special circumstances.
On the BOOK NOW page, select All Services or a specific braiding category to select your desired style and follow the prompts. You’ll be taken to a short questionnaire asking for your name, contact information, and style details. You’ll also be able to include any notes or questions about your upcoming visit.
Once you complete the form, you’ll be required to leave a $50 NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE DEPOSIT. If you do NOT leave a deposit, your appointment will NOT be confirmed. The balance will be due in CASH at the conclusion of your service.
A team member will contact you 24 to 48 hours after receiving your deposit to respond to your booking questionnaire and confirm your appointment. Your deposit serves as consent to receiving text messages and emails from us. If you must make a change to your appointment, please do so at this time. Any changes made after the appointment confirmation will not be honored, and you may forfeit your deposit and slot. We reserve the right to make changes or cancellations to appointments at our discretion.
Appointment cancellations, last-minute changes, no-calls, and no-shows will NOT be accepted. You forfeit your deposit in either event. Please make sure you are booking an appointment on a day that you are absolutely available. You are responsible for the style you select. Please ask all styling questions during your consultation with our team. A client who misses two appointments will no longer have the option to book an appointment. We reserve the right to make changes or cancellations to appointments at our discretion.
Please keep in mind that you will receive all notifications regarding your scheduled appointment via text alerts and emails. It is your responsibility to keep track of any updates.
All guests are required to arrive with their hair washed, fully detangled, and placed into a protective style like bantu knots, two- strand twists, plaits or cornrows. You are not required to create more than 12 sections and it is not expected to be prim and proper. Do NOT saturate your hair in oil, creams, butters, lotions, and leave-in conditioners. Additional charges will be incurred if we must prep your hair on the day of your visit. Refer to this link for instructions on how to detangle.
All final payments must be made in CASH ONLY at the completion of your service in the salon. We only accept digital payments to secure your reservation prior to your visit. We will not accept remaining balances via these platforms. Please secure cash at nearby ATMs and commercial banks prior to your appointment.
There will be absolutely NO REFUNDS for any reason. Nevertheless, we make it our priority to resolve all issues to the best of our ability. If you have any issues, we urge you to communicate your concerns at the time of your visit.
Prices vary depending on several factors, including but not limited to your natural hair type, head shape and size, requests for long lengths, volume and fullness, color combinations, style choices and your stylist’s skillset. All pricing provided, whether verbally or written, are base rates that vary depending on these factors. Final pricing is always determined at the end of your service.
We do not service children under the age of 7 years old. Please bear this in mind before making your appointment requests. In addition, we reserve the right to discontinue service to children with sensitive scalp and minimal hair styling experience if non-compliance persists due to discomfort.
Kandee is available on Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The earliest available appointment is at 10 a.m. and the latest available is at 4 p.m. To book an early (before 10 a.m.) or late (after 4 p.m.) appointment for a style that takes 3 hours or more to complete, you must request and receive a special approval from Kandee. These early bird and night owl appointments will incur an additional fee due at the time of your deposit. Monday bookings will require the same procedure and incur a higher convenience fee.
THE 10 BRAID COMMANDMENTS
You risk compromising a pleasant salon experience with last-minute styles and updates that we can’t accommodate. Be sure of what you want before booking your appointment. Book a consultation if you have questions or concerns.
For walk-in and short-notice appointments, select from the following styles: Classic Box Braids, Classic Cornrows, Classic Cornrow Ponytails, 5+ Feed-in Cornrows, Senegalese and Kinky Twists, and Basic Crochet. For booked appointments, if you change your original request, there will be additional fees and there is no guarantee we can honor the new request.
No guests. This includes infants and strollers. One client, one stylist.
Do not place personal belongings on styling stations.
Your hair must be washed, untangled, and maintained in a protective style with 6 to 12 sections of Bantu knots, twists, or braids.
Stylists need patrons to follow instructions not forget them.
As if you’re getting your portrait painted:
a. Do not slouch, sit stiffly or uncentered in the chair.
b. Do not tilt your head in the opposite direction, bend your head to see your phone, laptop, etc., or fall asleep and bob your head.
c. Do keep your head and eyes straight ahead, not at the braider, mirror, and/or at other clients.
Once styling has commenced, avoid repeatedly moving your head and do not ask to leave the salon during your visit. This adds unnecessary time to your appointment by impacting how efficiently your braider can complete your style.
Before, during, and after braiding, remember to hydrate, cleanse, condition, and treat your hair in a consistent manner.
Your goal is to look good, and ours is to help you achieve that. These commandments are in place to make this a reality.
We love it when your hair looks good. We love it even more when your hair feels good.
We’re working hard behind the scenes to create products and services that will help you care for your braids and natural hair. And, we’d love to have you be a part of the process. Let's hear your thoughts.
Please fill out the form with your suggestions!
