Welcome to 2021 and welcome to the K&D African Hair Braiding official blog. We’re excited to step into the new year with more ways to connect with our loyal clients and look forward to making many more new friends along the way.
Nearly 25 years ago, two immigrants from West Africa had a dream of sharing the artistry of hair braiding and natural hair with the community of Long Island. The salon, they imagined, would not be a place just for external beautification. Day after day, braid after braid, the salon also grew as a home for camaraderie and wholesome connections.
It’s always our goal to help you look your best and to feel it, too! For those of you who know us, you know how much we enjoy sharing warm conversations and hearty laughs. Whether we’re talking about the latest style trends, viral videos, or topics that affect us all, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive environment respectful of everyone. This blog is an extension of that space.
We hope to carry on the many conversations we have with our friends near and far. Here’s what you can look forward to on the K&D African Hair Braiding Blog:
Learn more about hair braiding and natural hair care regimens. We’ll teach you what you need to know to keep your hair happy and healthy.
Curious about the many products out in the natural hair market? We’ll share information about products you can buy and easy DIY ones that you can make at home.
We’ll keep you up to date with the ever-changing hair braiding and natural hairstyles.
Keep a lookout for news and updates about the salon, including special giveaways and a new rewards program.
Our hair is our crown, and we are deeply passionate about all things related to hair braiding and natural hair. We invite you to help us adjust all of our crowns by joining in the many discussions to come.
We welcome your thoughts, comments, suggestions, questions and even disagreements — with one caveat:
Profanity, racial and ethnic slurs, and rude behavior won’t be tolerated, and we will quickly remove (or not publish) any comments that are offensive, disrespectful or irrelevant.
Please keep comments relevant to the conversations taking place, maintain respect for all those involved and contribute value and depth to the discussion. Also, we discourage you from posting private information in this public forum.
If you have questions or comments that relate specifically to you or services we’ve provided to you, please contact us directly.
We commit to sharing the same passion in these posts that we do in person at our salon. We hope to learn and grow with you in the same way we’ve done with the community we’ve built over the years.
Thank you for visiting our blog and contributing to its growth. We’re excited about this new journey!
